Job summary

We seek an experienced civil engineer specializing in maintenance of traffic, traffic control, and utility coordination to lead projects in Michigan.

The role involves scope, schedule, and budget management, staff development, and client communications, with opportunities for leadership and business development. Michigan PE license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Seven years’ experience in maintenance of traffic design, traffic control, and utility coordination.
• Experience with municipal streets and utilities and/or roadway/highway design.
• Professional Engineering license in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage scope, schedule, and budget for proposals and contracts.
• Coach and manage staff development, subcontractors, and project expenses throughout implementation.
• Effectively communicate project goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to the team, client, and public.
• Anticipate project issues, advise client on alternatives, and provide solutions.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of OHM and subcontractor invoices and collections.
• Participate in business development and client satisfaction activities.
• Understand OHM services and how they relate to client needs.
• Identify necessary staff resources and collaborate with Discipline Director/Geographic in hiring.
• Ensure direct reports have tools, training, and are placed based on strengths; conduct performance reviews.

• Preferred experience with MDOT ProjectWise and design criteria and manuals.
• Professional Engineering license in Michigan.
