The Village of Pleasant Prairie seeks a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to manage payroll processing, accounts receivable, bank activity, and tax-related financial tasks for the Finance Department. Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience processing payroll and using payroll systems or software.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax regulations; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, processes, and analyzes bi-weekly payroll timely and ensures accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
  • Oversees accounts receivable functions, generates invoices, records payments, and reconciles aging reports.
  • Monitors bank activity, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers; logs transactions for accounting system.
  • Oversees collection and reporting of municipal taxes and prepares tax refunds.
  • Supports audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests; assists with general accounting tasks.
