Job summary

League of Minnesota Cities is seeking highly motivated law students for a part-time internship focused on substantive legal and policy matters involving Minnesota local governments.

Candidates will be selected for a clerkship housed in the General Counsel and Research or Litigation Offices, gaining hands-on experience in litigation, research, amicus activities, and corporate work. Requires 20 hours/week during the school year.

Qualifications

• Law students enrolled in law school.
• Must be able to work 20 hours per week during the school year.
• Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample (not longer than 10 pages) and complete an online application by midnight on Sep 27, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assist with legal research and policy matters involving Minnesota local governments.
• Shadow attorneys in the General Counsel and Research or Litigation Offices of the League of Minnesota Cities.
• Contribute to the amicus program and corporate work within municipal law.
