Job summary

Hennessey Engineers is seeking a Project Manager – Municipal Engineering to lead planning, design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. A licensed P.E. and strong CAD oversight are essential for coordinating multidisciplinary teams through all project phases.

The role emphasizes technical design leadership, client relations, and ensuring projects meet standards, budgets, and schedules. Office-based with site visits in Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Michigan or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible municipal engineering experience.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable CAD platform.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple municipal infrastructure projects from proposal through construction closeout.
• Develop and monitor project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Lead design teams and coordinate with municipal clients, DPW, and subconsultants.
• Oversee CAD production, review plan sets, and ensure quality control.
• Support proposal preparation and client relationship development.
