Job summary

City of Concord seeks a civil engineer to perform professional and administrative functions, lead infrastructure design, and implement programs for municipal projects. The role involves hydrology, FEMA LOMR submissions, and GIS data integration to support design development and record-keeping.

Candidate should have PE license (or be pursuing) and a NC driver’s license, with experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS and HydroCAD, and knowledge of NEPA, FHWA, and USACE regulations.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or FE exam in progress.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and codes.
• Ability to coordinate with agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and technical reviews of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Develop stormwater plans and perform hydrology/ drainage analyses.
• Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with FHWA, NCDEQ and USACE regulations.
