Job summary

The City of Joplin, MO is seeking a diligent grounds/maintenance worker to perform outdoor labor across parks, cemeteries, and city facilities. You will operate lawn care equipment, assist with minor repairs, and help maintain public spaces in all weather conditions.

Applicants should have at least one year of manual labor or grounds maintenance experience and a High school diploma or GED. A Class B CDL is required within 90 days of appointment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience performing manual labor or buildings/grounds maintenance.
• Possess and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements within 90 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Mows lawns and grounds, trims plants and shrubs.
• Operates lawn mowers, brush hog, weed eater, and small trucks.
• Cleans and maintains groundskeeping equipment and facilities.
• Performs building and grounds maintenance to keep City facilities clean and neat.
• Maintains wastewater plant grounds and related equipment.
• Assists with minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs under supervision.
