Responsibilities include developing annual budgets, monitoring financial statements, and coordinating with MIS and other departments. The position emphasizes collaboration and adherence to municipal accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area.
• Advanced degree in related discipline desirable; CPA preferred.
• CPFO required or must obtain within one year of hire.
• Eight or more years of governmental accounting and finance experience including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day accounting, utility billing, budgeting, purchasing, payroll and auditing functions.
• Oversees compliance with governmental accounting principles and regulatory standards.
• Prepares annual budgets and financial statements; assists with audits.
• Coordinates budget process and provides guidance to management.
• Serves as a financial resource to management, staff, and external consultants.
