Job summary

Morgan Stanley invites applications for a role in the Municipal Securities Syndicate/Client Financing team. The Analyst/Associate will market new municipal issues to clients and internal stakeholders, while designing data-driven approaches to support pricing and investor feedback ahead of transactions.

Qualified candidates gain exposure to underwriting, market making and structuring activities, working with investment bankers, risk, issuers and investors in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required.
• Developed understanding of municipal markets.
• Experience in municipal public finance, debt capital markets or another applicable structured finance/fixed income role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Python or VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and verbal.
• Curious, inquisitive, collaborative, detail-oriented, analytical, self-starting, team-oriented.
• Eager to use new technologies, data and automation to enhance municipal syndicate and financing functions.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple high-priority projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical, quantitative and operational support to execute bespoke financing structures.
• Develop and maintain marketing materials reflecting current market conditions and technicals.
• Collaborate with Public Finance bankers and salesforce to identify client needs and design structures.
• Develop and participate in presentations to municipal and not-for-profit borrowers, and to institutional investors.
• Coordinate with Morgan Stanley desks and external market makers to support trading activities.
