Job summary

Ayres Associates is seeking a senior municipal water and/or wastewater engineer with a strong record in design, project leadership, and client management. You will lead technical design, supervise plans and specifications, and ensure timely, profitable project delivery in line with Ayres standards.

The role requires a PE in Wisconsin or Minnesota and 15+ years in municipal utility design, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered professional engineer (PE) in Wisconsin or Minnesota.
• 15+ years of experience in municipal utility design and construction.
• Ability to independently manage small to medium size projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead in technical design of municipal water and/or wastewater projects including distribution, pumping, storage, treatment, and process engineering.
• Manage projects, oversee design and production of plans and specifications and related regulatory submittals.
• Ensure work is produced on schedule, profitable, and in conformance with Ayres quality standards and contract requirements.
• Build and maintain respectful relationships with the design team, PMs, and other leaders.
• Support and mentor staff development.
• Engage in professional organizations to share knowledge.

Ayres is seeking a senior municipal water and/or wastewater engineer with a proven track record of technical design and managing and successfully executing various municipal utility projects. The successful candidate will have expertise in utility design, water/wastewater distribution and collection systems, and utility relocation projects, with experience in managing projects and clients, permitting, design, specification and contract preparation, and construction management.

On Any Given Day, You’ll

• Take the lead in and work collaboratively to deliver projects for municipal governments.
• Responsible for lead in technical design of municipal water and/or wastewater projects including distribution, pumping, storage, treatment, and process engineering.
• Manage projects, oversee design and production of plans and specifications and related regulatory submittals, and ensure that the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the quality standards of Ayres and requirements of the contract.
