Job summary

City of Sarasota, Engineering Department, is seeking a seasoned professional to assist the Director, Engineering in planning, design, and management of City engineering and right-of-way programs.

The role involves coordinating with consultants, utilities, and construction contractors, supervising engineering staff, providing progress reports, and performing duties of City Engineer in the absence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Five years supervisory experience in governmental engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida within six months of employment.
• PTOE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist City Engineer in planning, design, and review of engineering projects.
• Coordinate between consultants, contractors, utilities and the City.
• Provide status reports on major projects.
• Supervise engineering staff and manage department resources.
• Attend Commission meetings for major projects.
