Job summary

The City of Pinole is seeking an experienced Associate Civil Engineer to join the Public Works Department. This role offers variety, autonomy, and a direct impact on the community through a portfolio of municipal projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with four years of public works experience and PE licensure preferred. Salary ranges and incentives are competitive for the region.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field and four years of qualifying professional experience in a public works setting or as a professional engineer working with public agencies.
• Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in good standing in any U.S. state is preferred; candidates not currently registered may be considered based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a diverse portfolio of municipal projects including roadways, paving, parks, facilities, stormwater, sewer, and other public infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Public Works leadership, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other City departments.
• Move projects forward independently in a smaller municipal environment with strong project management and communication.
