This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants hands‑on design responsibility, mentorship from highly tenured technical staff, and exposure to meaningful public‑sector projects across Southeast Texas.

The ideal candidate has strong Civil 3D skills, some design experience, and is either an EIT or approaching PE licensure. This position is fully in‑office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design and analysis of municipal civil infrastructure projects, including water/wastewater, drainage, utilities, and roadway improvements.
  • Prepare construction drawings, design plans, technical reports, and project documentation.
  • Perform grading, stormwater, hydrology/hydraulics, and utility calculations under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Assist with research, field investigations, and data collection for project development.
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality work.
  • Participate in internal design reviews, QA/QC processes, and project planning.
  • Help maintain project schedules and support communication with municipal clients and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • EIT certification required; candidates nearing PE eligibility strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant civil design experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater systems, drainage, hydrology/hydraulics, and general municipal infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fully in‑office environment.
What This Role Offers
  • Consistent, recession‑resistant municipal project work – primarily water, wastewater, and drainage for the local city.
  • Significant hands‑on design exposure and early responsibility.
  • Strong mentorship from a close‑knit team with deep technical expertise.
