Job summary

Town of Manchester seeks an experienced civil engineer to perform advanced design and project coordination for municipal public works and water/sewer projects. You will prepare plans, specs and cost estimates, stamp plans, and assist in permitting while guiding staff and coordinating with departments and the public.

The ideal candidate holds a Connecticut Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within nine months) and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, with several years of relevant

Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and municipal public works.
Experience with design, analysis and project coordination.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, ArcView, and MS Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for municipal projects.
Review development plans for conformance with standards and practices.
Coordinate with engineers, developers, contractors and the public.
Stamp plans and assist in permit processing.
Lead simulations using hydraulic and water quality models.
Assist in budgeting and provide technical information to departments.
