Job summary

raSmith is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Municipal Services division to contribute to a variety of community-focused projects across the country. This role involves site civil design, hydrology calculations, permitting, and field observation, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Zero to four years of experience in civil engineering.

• Prepare site civil designs, specs, plans, and estimates for projects (grading, stormwater, water/sewer, roads, parks).
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.
• Conduct grant writing and permitting for projects.
• Provide construction observation fieldwork and other duties as assigned.

Municipal Civil Engineer - Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare site civil engineering designs, specifications, plans, and estimates for projects including: site grading, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, water and sewer infrastructure, roads, and park amenities using AutoCAD Civil 3D and a variety of other engineering software.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
• Conduct research grant writing and permitting for projects
• Construction observation fieldwork
• Other duties as assigned

Municipal Civil Engineer Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university and coursework in civil engineering.
• Zero to 4 years of experience working in similar civil engineering areas
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Applicable U.S. based work experience.
