Job summary

Core & Main seeks a detail-oriented Quote Specialist to support and quote projects for top customers, including municipalities. You will provide technical information and product knowledge to assist the sales team in closing bids and quotes.

You will prepare bid packages, track deadlines, and coordinate with vendors and operations to ensure timely and accurate quotations while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline; 5–8 years in a related field, MS/MA with 3–5 years preferred.
• Familiarity with certificates of insurance, bid bonds, and portals like Bidnet/OpenGov/Bonfire/Ionwave.
• Familiarity with national cooperative contracts such as Sourcewell, AXIA, or OMNIA is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage bids for municipalities, openings, promote products, and follow up on bid awards.
• Correlate all cost information within the required time frame and bid date.
• Prepare formal quotations and submittals with minimal direction; enter purchase orders and follow up on orders.
• Coordinate with purchasing agents/buyers on pending RFQs and search for new RFQs online.
• Maintain and log projects for quotations and assist with project management tasks.
