The Mum/Mam interpreter will provide interpretation within the State of California to agencies in the State of California to reach individuals with a language barrier. Interpretation will include, but not be limited to, Education, Legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

1. Accurately interpret spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings.
2. Utilize technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications

• Must be fluent in Mum/Mam.
• High school diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience.
• MISS, RID certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in language liaison, education, medical, environmental, and/or military interpretation.
• Ability to pass a background check; additional checks may be required by projects or clients.

Working Conditions

• Professional office environment.
• On-call as needed with notification within 24-48 hours.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods and sit for long durations.
• Flexible schedule and potential travel.
