Job summary

Metropolitan School District of Washington Township seeks a Maintenance Technician to support the district-wide facilities team. The role involves performing diverse maintenance tasks across trades and assisting with upkeep of outdoor spaces and equipment.

Under supervision, you will troubleshoot repairs, plan work with blueprints, and respond to safety concerns after hours. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and a valid Indiana driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid Indiana motor vehicle operator's license; CDL may be required after hiring.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff and outside public agencies.
• Flexibility with work schedule/shift changes and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support all trades on the Maintenance team with tasks (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, irrigation).
• Assist with cleaning/repair of maintenance equipment and outdoor vehicles.
• Assist with snow removal and debris/playground/grounds maintenance.
• Troubleshoot repairs and plan work using blueprints or manuals.
• Order supplies and materials as needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies during or after hours to resolve safety concerns.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and tools in safe operating condition.
