Job summary

South Texas College seeks a Maintenance Assistant to perform general maintenance across carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locksmith and energy. You will install and repair equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on college vehicles, while using the CMMS to log work requests.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience; familiarity with multiple trades is preferred. Travel across the college district is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related maintenance experience.
• Experience in two or more trades (carpentry, painting, locksmith) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance duties including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locksmith and energy.
• Install, repair, or replace defective equipment and services.
• Operate routine preventive maintenance on college vehicles and report maintenance needs.
