Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Multiskilled Tech II for the Oncology Unit (Days). The role supports patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment, with responsibilities spanning basic patient care, vital signs, care coordination, and clerical duties.

Eligible applicants will hold one of several state or national certifications and a current BLS CPR certification. The position is full-time and hourly, located at John Peter Smith Hospital, with day shifts from 7a–7p.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of: CNA, CMA, CCMA, EMT, or PCT certification.
• Current JPS BLS- CPR certification required and maintained.
• Must have current licensure/certification/registration for the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care with attention to age/development.
• Assist to minimize infection risk and protect patients from harm.
• Record vital signs, I/O, weights, ECG monitoring, venipuncture, bedside testing; document in patient record.
• Delivers/receives items; assists with admissions, discharges, transfers.
• Monitor supplies/equipment availability and PAR levels; stock as needed.
• Perform clerical tasks (fax, copier, computer, insurance coding, charges, telephone).
• Monitor patients on restraints or suicide precautions and document as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Job Summary: The Multiskilled Tech II performs technical and clerical duties associated with the care and treatment of patients.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

• Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and development stage.
• Assist with patient care in a way that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection, accidental contamination, and protects the patient from injury or harm.
• Obtains and records vital signs, I/O's, weights, basic ECG monitoring, venipuncture’s, bedside testing, and documents in the patients record as directed by the licensed personnel.
• Delivers and obtains items from other areas of the hospital as required.
• Prepares and assists with admissions, discharges, procedures, ambulating and transfers of patients.
• Assists in monitoring adequate availability and stocking of supplies and equipment according to established PAR levels.
• Performs clerical functions (fax, copier, computer, printer; insurance coding, patient charges, and telephone).
• Monitors patients with restraints or on suicide precautions and documents as directed.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment.

• Completion of an accredited medical training program (e.g. EMT-B/I, EMT-P, CMA, CNA, etc.).
