Job summary

HallKeen Assisted Living Communities seeks a Maintenance Assistant to execute maintenance requests and repairs under the Director of Maintenance, ensuring safety and quality standards in the community.

Responsibilities include diagnosing HVAC/electrical/plumbing issues, completing service requests safely, making vacant apartments rent-ready, and maintaining positive resident relations while following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• 1 year experience in property management maintenance performing the duties.
• Able to read and write in English; read maintenance tickets and labels on containers.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic for estimates and calculations.
• Able to occasionally operate general office equipment.
• Able to frequently use general maintenance tools and equipment.
• Able to handle chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Must possess basic hand tools for maintenance duties.
• Must have submitted a Criminal Background check.
• Must provide a medical certificate confirming no communicable disease including TB.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water features and waste management systems.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs safely and timely.
• Perform turn-key work to ensure vacant apartment homes are rent ready in a timely manner.
• Maintain customer service standards; respond to resident requests and resolve problems.
• Promote safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, including Fair Housing and building codes.
• Organize and prioritize service requests and maintenance tasks.
• May supervise work of other associates and outside contractors.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
