Job summary

CITY OF FARMINGTON seeks a Maintenance Technician-Plumber to perform plumbing and mechanical maintenance at City facilities. You will work under the Lead Plumber and may supervise other staff as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in plumbing/maintenance, a NM driver's license, and the ability to obtain Journeyman licenses within one year. Knowledge of plumbing codes and strong computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two years of experience in plumbing/maintenance preferred.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license with good driving record.
• Able to obtain NM Journeyman Plumber and Journeyman Gas Fitter licenses within 1 year of hire.
• Knowledge of Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes and Standards.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with facility management software.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, officials and the public.
• Operate a vehicle to support department operations.
• Work under supervision of the Lead Plumber; supervise others as assigned.
• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance on City facilities; assist larger projects as needed.
• Inspect and repair plumbing, gas and mechanical systems; follow plans and blueprints.
