Job summary

Huron–Clinton Metroparks is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to perform a mix of skilled and unskilled tasks in park facilities, grounds, and related structures. The role includes mowing, snow plowing, turf maintenance, and light building repairs under supervision.

The candidate should hold relevant licenses and be able to work variable hours. Ideal applicants will have an Associate Degree or equivalent experience, pesticide licensing, and a CDL–A with air.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or four years of related experience for Worker Level 04.
• Possession of Pesticide Applicator License (PAL) including core and categories 3A, 3B and 6 or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Possession of a Michigan Commercial Driver License (CDL–A w/Air) or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mowing, litter pickup, and general park maintenance across facilities.
• Plow and salt hike/bike paths as needed.
• Maintain turf and landscaped areas using lawn equipment; operate park construction and maintenance vehicles.
• Repair and install building components, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks as required.
• Train and supervise provisional and seasonal maintenance employees.
