Job summary

City of Wichita is seeking a semiskilled maintenance worker to join the facilities team. The role involves performing a variety of building, grounds, and equipment maintenance tasks under supervision, with routine custodial and grounds duties as needed.

Responsibilities include basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor electrical repairs, as well as operating light equipment. Valid Kansas driver’s license and ability to work outdoors are required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of semiskilled maintenance experience.
• A valid Kansas Driver’s license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform semiskilled maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Assist skilled workers and use basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks.
• Operate power mowers, irrigation equipment, and related devices as needed.
• Move repair materials and use hand and portable power tools.
• Work outdoors and handle minor repairs to chairs, flooring, and windows.
