Job summary

RM Palmer Company in Wyomissing, PA seeks an Industrial Utility Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot critical utility systems across HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, pumps, and water networks. You will support manufacturing efficiency and safety while working with the maintenance and operations teams.

A high school diploma plus technical training is preferred, with 3+ years in industrial maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school certification or technical training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Technician Certification, ASME Boiler License, NATE/NITC, OSHA Safety Training certifications preferred.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance, HVAC, utility, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals required.
• Experience using preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, compressors, refrigeration units, pumps, heat exchangers, air handlers, and related utility equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot facility systems including compressed air, steam, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, and water systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and daily monitoring of system metrics such as temperature, pressure, airflow, and humidity.
• Diagnose equipment failures using schematics, blueprints, manuals, and diagnostic tools, executing timely repairs to prevent production interruptions.
• Support general facilities maintenance including lighting, doors, flooring, painting, minor carpentry, and building repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
• Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of facility equipment and utility systems.
• Maintain accurate preventative maintenance records, work orders, and maintenance logs.
• Support outside contractors and vendors during maintenance projects and service work.
• Enforce OSHA, environmental, and company safety regulations to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and downtime reduction.
• Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to support uninterrupted manufacturing processes.
