Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program and certification; RMA or CMA required.
• Completion of BLS or CPR with recertification every 2 years.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and tasks.
• Professional interaction with physicians, offices, pharmacies, and support staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend all information required for this position.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts for medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily patient care across OB/GYN services.
• Support physicians, providers, and nurses during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients for examinations and prenatal visits.
• Record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP).
• Draw blood and administer injections under supervision.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain clean examination rooms.
• Stock rooms with medical supplies; manage triage areas.
• Prepare patient education materials related to OB/GYN care.
• Prepare charts, verify referrals and authorizations for appointments.
• Ensure labs, medical records, and imaging are available before visits.
• Create/update patient forms in the EMR and document all information.
• Obtain records from referring providers and facilities.
• Schedule outside appointments with specialists as directed.
• Monitor EMR tasks daily; maintain department standards.
