Job Description
We are seeking skilled and motivated professionals of all experience levels to join our team as Data Center Electrical Commissioning Engineers (CxEs). The Electrical CxE will commission electrical systems in data centers, ensuring they meet top performance and reliability standards. This role requires a deep understanding of mission-critical environments, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
All newly hired team members entering Apollo’s Commissioning Engineer career path begin in the role of Commissioning Engineer in Training (Cx-EIT). In this role, team members develop and apply technical commissioning knowledge, engineering judgment, and field experience through structured project execution, mentorship, and progressive responsibility within mission-critical environments.
Cx-EIT team members actively contribute to project execution activities, including technical reviews, systems evaluations, commissioning documentation development, field inspections, functional testing, issue identification and resolution support, and coordination with project stakeholders.
Upon successful demonstration of technical competency, achievement of qualification and performance milestones, and management approval, team members may progress into the role ofElectricalCommissioning Engineer. Progression timing may vary based on individual performance, project experience, business needs, and completion of required development objectives.
Activities will include but are not limited to testing and/or validation of transformers, electrical switchgear, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, Static Transfer Switch (STS) units, Power Distribution Units (PDU), electrical distribution equipment, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and Building Management and Automation Systems (BMS). This role involves supporting data center construction/commissioning activities, so working hours may include nights and/or weekends.
This is an onsite, client-facing role that may require approximately 90% or more travel to various client locations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, equivalent professional experience or experience in a related field (including but not limited to electrical field service technician, data center technician or military).
