NewsNation is seeking a digital reporter or producer to create and clip stories for national audiences from Chicago or New York. You will craft headlines, push alerts, and social posts, edit content for a national platform, and present segments across digital channels.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in news, strong news judgment, video and social media experience, and excellent written and spoken communication. A BA in journalism, advertising, or marketing or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Strong news judgment and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal.
• Experience working with video and social media.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Create stories that maintain high journalism standards and differentiate the brand.
• Create or clip videos to help viewers understand stories.
• Craft headlines, push alerts and social posts for cross-platform publishing.
• Edit wire and local network content for a national audience with journalistic integrity and high production quality.
• Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across digital platforms and social channels.
• Update NewsNation digital platforms with breaking and topical news.
• Pitch stories daily and develop multiple ideas from a single topic.
• Utilize SEO best practices.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule as network needs evolve.
