KOAA, The E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, seeks a Meteorologist to deliver accurate forecasts across TV, digital, radio and social platforms.

You’ll provide severe weather coverage, craft engaging weather stories and educate audiences to stay informed and safe. You’ll contribute to multi-platform storytelling, collaborate with photographers and reporters, and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology preferred.
• Generally 3+ years experience in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily weathercasts with weather data and graphics.
• Provide urgent weather updates during severe weather.
• Produce weather content across TV, radio and internet.
• Evaluate new weather data gathering and presentation tools.
• Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation and research.
• Report live from events or mobile broadcast units.
• Write and produce weather stories for multiple media platforms.
• Collaborate with photographers on stories as needed.
• Work cooperatively with team to meet deadlines.
