Job summary

KOAA, The E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, seeks an experienced Meteorologist to deliver accurate forecasts across TV, digital, radio and social platforms.

You will report live from events, create engaging weather content, and help audiences stay informed and safe during severe weather. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology with 3+ years of related experience, plus strong AP-style writing and newsroom skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology preferred.
• Generally 3+ years experience in related field preferred.
• Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills; posting content to various websites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts using weather data and graphics.
• Deliver urgent weather updates interrupting regular programming as needed.
• Produce weather materials for TV, radio, internet and other platforms.
• Evaluate new weather data gathering and presentation tools.
• Report live from event sites or mobile broadcast unit.
• Develop weather stories for multiple platforms on deadline.
