Job summary

WKRC-TV in Cincinnati is seeking a dynamic General Assignment Reporter to pursue enterprise stories and accountability reporting across platforms with strong live reporting skills. The ideal candidate will craft compelling narratives, develop sources, and contribute to the station’s newscasts.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience as a reporter, excellent writing and copy-editing abilities, and comfort meeting tight deadlines while engaging with the community and newsroom

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a reporter.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills required.
• Proven ability to develop sources and enterprise stories.
• Familiar with newsroom tools and current media creation tools.
• Ability to report live and under deadline.

Responsibilities

• Produce and write meaningful stories for station’s newscast that can be used across multiple platforms
• Provide news on-air as directed from the news management team
• Engaging with local community members
• Reviewing material for fairness, accuracy, and balance
• Work closely with all members of the news team, which would include Producers, Editors, Anchors, News Management, etc.
