Position Title and Compensation
Cross‑Trained Technologist II – Interventional Radiology (Full Time). Sign‑on bonus eligible. Base salary: $50.50 – $75.04 per hour.
Sign‑On Bonus Details
- Bonuses paid in two installments: half within the first 30 days, the remaining balance at six months.
- Bonuses subject to applicable taxes.
- Full‑time status (≥30 hours/week) qualifies; part‑time (20–29 hours/week) does not.
- Per‑diem employees are not eligible for bonuses.
- Eligibility restricted for current and former BILH candidates and employees who have worked within the last 12 months.
- Bonus amounts are subject to change based on hiring needs.
Job Summary
The Cross‑Trained Imaging Technician performs a wide range of radiology exams and procedures in a hospital/Level I trauma and/or urgent‑care setting. Duties vary by the two modalities assigned (e.g., General Diagnostic/Breast Imaging, Interventional/Neurointerventional). The role meets ASRT practice standard guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic exams, ensuring optimal equipment configuration.
- Enter exam instructions into computer systems and evaluate images for accuracy and completeness.
- Make necessary adjustments to optimize image quality.
- Respond to patients’ physical and psychological needs and explain procedures clearly.
- Practice proper hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
- Observe patient conditions and report changes to nursing or physician staff.
- Modify computer entries for billing accuracy, contrast usage, and reaction documentation.
- Maintain daily room checklists, code cart compliance checks, and monthly inventory checks for expired products.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Radiography.
- Licensed radiology provider in Massachusetts.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (ARRt).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
- 3–5 years of related work experience.
- For ultrasound/vascular modalities: ARDMS (Ob/Gyn and Abdomen Specialties) and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) credentials.
- Advanced technical computer skills for functional area support.
