TikTok is seeking a Multi-modal Machine Learning Engineer for its Trust and Safety team in San Jose. You will design and deploy advanced ML solutions to protect users and publishers worldwide, collaborating with product, engineering, and data science teams to address challenging safety problems at internet scale.

The role requires hands-on ML expertise (CV/NLP/Multimodal/LLM), strong Python coding, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operation Research, Applied Mathematics, Physics or similar quantitative fields, with 2+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning areas (CV/NLP/Multimodal/Graph/LLM) and statistical methods.
• Strong coding skills, especially in Python or similar languages.
• Curiosity toward new technologies and entrepreneurship, good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build content understanding models for content moderation.
• Work on state-of-the-art content understanding techniques (unimodal/multimodal classifiers, graph models, representation learning, LLM).
• Collaborate with product teams to define objectives and improve trust and safety strategy.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models and design scalable online workflow and serving pipelines.
• Collaborate with data science team to understand challenges and propose data-driven strategies.
