Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to produce video, photography, audio, and multimedia content that supports AI and mission applications for the workforce.

You will collaborate with marketing, instructional design, and disruption design to translate strategy and training into polished multimedia products; you will capture user insights and support onboarding while ensuring WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility across deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of total experience.
• Local to the Washington, DC metro area and willing to travel on-site for filming and production.
• Proficient with video editing and graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, Canva).
• Professional DSLR photography/videography expertise in office and on-location environments.
• Lighting experience for creative video production.
• Audio capture with lavalier or remote mics for clear interview sound.
• Strong ability to produce content for internal/external channels and meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Solicit best practices and lessons learned from client personnel for ongoing content updates.

• Assist in creating hands-on learning content, including walkthroughs, microlearning videos, and webinars.
• Identify top content needs with program leadership for each Program Increment cycle.
• Ensure all deliverables meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Job description

As a Multimedia Specialist, you will produce the video, photography, audio, and multimedia content that brings our client’s AI and mission applications to life for the workforce. Partnering with the marketing and communications specialist, instructional designer, and disruption designer, you will translate strategy, training curricula, and user research into polished multimedia products that build trust and drive adoption of AI and data capabilities across the client workforce and the mission domain.

Contributions

• Works directly with the marketing and communications specialist and instructional designer to translate strategic communications plans and training curricula into video, audio, and visual content that supports adoption of the AI and mission applications
• Partners with the disruption designer to capture user research, journey maps, and co-creation workshop outputs on video and photography for use in stakeholder briefings and delivery documentation
• Engages with client personnel and delivery teams to solicit best practices, lessons learned, and mission stories to continuously capture up-to-date content for the program
• Produces multimedia assets - training videos, executive briefing visuals, adoption campaign content, and program demonstrations - for Program Increment reviews, monthly leadership briefings, and workforce enablement channels
• Supports the instructional designer in producing hands-on learning content, including recorded walkthroughs, microlearning videos, and webinars, for onboarding new communities to the platform
• Works with program leadership to understand highest-priority needs for content collection, creation, and publishing during each quarterly Program Increment
• Ensures multimedia deliverables meet Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including captioning and audio description where required

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of total experience
• Local to the Washington, DC metro area and willing to travel on-site to client as needed for filming and production
• Professional experience with video editing and graphic design tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or similar platforms; proficiency with Canva or comparable design tools
• Professional experience with DSLR photography and videography, including on-camera and off-camera flash, in office and on-location environments
• Professional lighting experience for creative video production
• Professional audio capture experience using lavalier or remote recording devices to ensure clear sound in interview and briefing settings
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience producing content for internal and external communication channels
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with client personnel, subject matter experts, and multidisciplinary delivery teams
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant video, photography graphic design and/or multimedia production experience
• Experience producing content that meets Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including captioning and audio description requirements

Preferred

• Experience producing short-form, digital-native video content for training or outreach purposes
• Experience working in Agile environments, including sprint reviews and Program Increment ceremonies
• Ability to record, produce, and edit podcast-style content in both video and audio formats
• Experience creating digital assets, including overlays, lower thirds, captions, intros, and outros

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
