Job summary

Wesleyan University’s Office of Communications seeks a Photographer/Videographer to capture authentic campus imagery across portraits, events, and editorial assignments. You will conceptualize, plan, shoot, and deliver high-quality assets aligned with Wesleyan’s on-brand storytelling.

You’ll shoot stills and light video, perform post-production, and collaborate with the Social Media Manager and multimedia team to support university communications goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 3+ years of professional photography experience preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom).
• Experience turning raw photos into engaging visuals for social media and editorial use.
• Experience with professional camera systems, lighting, and audio equipment.
• Strong communication and collaboration with campus partners.
• Commitment to working in a diverse environment and directing subjects.

Responsibilities

• Capture portraits, events, and editorial imagery for Wesleyan’s brand.
• Develop creative concepts and produce visual content supporting storytelling objectives.
• Perform post-production, color correction, and resizing of assets.
• Catalog and manage photo/video assets using DAM and storage systems.
• Participate in critiques and team meetings; plan shoots from concept to delivery.
• Operate and transport gear weighing up to 50 pounds for on- and off-campus shoots.
• Plan, shoot, and edit video projects from concept to final delivery.
