Job summary

Ilba is seeking a Multimedia Journalist Reporter in Rockford, IL to produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news content across platforms. You will arrange interviews, verify facts, and craft compelling stories with clear emphasis and deadline adherence.

You will research background information, pitch relevant local stories, and engage audiences on social media while maintaining journalistic standards and production quality across all platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency with office equipment and basic computer operations.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit and feed news content for all platforms.
• Arrange interviews and describe background and details of events.
• Review copy for errors in grammar, punctuation and editorial style.
• Determine story emphasis, length, and format; organize material accordingly.
• Research background information to provide accurate information.
• Pitch stories to editors and producers relevant to the local community.
• Edit news events and reports; ensure content meets company standards.
• Write stories for the web and eMedia platforms.
• Interact with viewers on social media; perform special projects as assigned.
