Job summary

FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News duopoly is seeking a general assignment multimedia journalist for our broadcast, digital and social platforms. The journalist will shoot, write, edit vosots and packages, and contribute to digital platforms with articles and reels for social channels.

The role requires strong storytelling and the ability to adapt content for multiple devices. The ideal candidate has a journalism or related degree, 3–5 years TV news reporting experience in a medium to large market, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or equivalent related experience.
3-5 years TV news reporting experience in a medium to large market preferred.
News videography, editing and livestreaming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurate and balanced reporting of news stories following company standards for journalistic integrity and quality.
Shoot, write, and edit stories ensuring accuracy, clarity, and strong storytelling.
Contributes to our digital platforms by writing web articles or producing/hosting programs for our CTV streaming app or producing reels for our social accounts.
Creatively present stories in ways that engage today’s audiences, tailoring content for different devices and platforms.
Must be able to ad-lib breaking news fluently with a strong ability to interact with anchors.
Collaborate with photographer, producer, assignment desk on live shots as needed.
Attend editorial meetings and regularly pitches original story ideas.
Develop community contacts and a network of news sources.
Attends station partnerships in community.
Perform other duties as assigned.
