Job summary

KVIA-TV, part of News-Press & Gazette Company, seeks a motivated Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to cover local and regional stories for broadcast, digital, and social platforms across the Borderland and Southern New Mexico.

The role requires strong storytelling, on-air presence, reporting, shooting, editing, and collaboration with the newsroom to develop daily and long-term coverage plans, delivering engaging reports while maintaining ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Strong on-air presence and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of AP Style, news writing, and storytelling techniques.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and changing schedules as news coverage requires.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging live reports, stand-ups, and breaking news coverage.
