Job summary

KIMA-TV in Lewiston, Idaho, is seeking a driven Multimedia Journalist to shoot, write, edit, and present compelling content across multiple platforms. This role demands enterprise reporting, breaking stories, and active audience engagement.

You’ll work with producers and photographers, manage deadlines, and adapt to dynamic news cycles. A degree in journalism or related field is preferred, with 1–2 years’ reporting experience. Flexible hours including nights and weekends are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of reporting experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to shoot and edit with non-linear editing software (Edius, Premiere, or Final Cut Pro).
  • Strong news judgement and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to produce content under deadline pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Familiarity with AP style and newsroom content management systems is a plus.
  • A passion for news and a drive to win.

Job description

KIMA-TV is looking for a driven, creative, and curious Multimedia Journalist to join our award-winning news team. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, great multi-tasker, deadline-drive, and eager to learn and grow. This is not a desk job – you will have to shoot, write, edit, and present compelling content across multiple platforms. We want someone who is eager to break stories, build sources, and embrace enterprise reporting. If you’re passionate about breaking news, and owning every story, we want to talk with you!

What You’ll Do:

The base salary compensation range for this role is $19 to $20 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, vacation time, and floating holidays.
