The Manufacturing Team Member V is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and adjusting multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe, furnace, or other various types of semi-automated equipment depending on assigned area. This position also involves troubleshooting the machine when necessary, diagnosing breakdowns, disassembling equipment, and replacing defective machine components.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Running production jobs on multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe, furnace, or other semi-automated equipment according to work instructions to produce quality parts while maintaining productivity standards.
  2. Inspecting products for quality using measuring tools, recording inspection findings, and documenting shift communications.
  3. Reading work orders and blueprints to ensure correct machine setup and product quality, and verifying inventory transactions.
  4. Performing offsets and adjustments to machine programs to ensure specifications and quality standards are met, and reporting complex issues to higher-level technicians.
  5. Troubleshooting machine issues through diagnosis, disassembly, and replacement or sharpening of tooling as necessary.
  6. Performing machine setups, including changing fixtures, tooling, and loading programs.
  7. Conducting general machine maintenance such as cleaning and checking oil and coolant levels.
  8. Reporting production counts, scrap, and labor hours accurately.
  9. Participating in 6S standards and lean manufacturing activities to improve processes.
  10. Cross-training by rotating between machines and work areas.
  11. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, with at least five (5) years of related experience. Klein employees may be considered with three (3) years of tenure. CNC certification or metalworking/tooling certification is preferred. Knowledge of CNC, milling, grinding, or furnace machines is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English, perform basic math and computer skills, and conduct visual quality inspections. Ability to learn, problem-solve, and work as part of a team. A Klein-provided crane certification may be required. Overtime availability is necessary.

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and lifting objects up to 35 pounds. Visual abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
