Job summary

NHE, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Parkside at Hickory Grove in Charlotte, NC. You will maintain the community's physical condition, safety, and appearance, perform repairs, preventive maintenance, make-readies, and coordinate with vendors.

The role requires a flexible schedule including weekends, on-call rotations, and some holidays, with opportunities to advance to Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years multifamily maintenance experience or 3 years general maintenance experience.
• Prior apartment maintenance experience required.
• EPA Certification (Type I & II or Universal) required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances and pools/spas.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• Certifications such as CAMT, CPO or related welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work for apartment homes, common areas, and equipment.
• Complete inspections, make-readies, move-in/move-out assessments, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, pools/spas, and equipment.
• Prioritize and respond to resident service requests and emergencies.
• Maintain curb appeal, grounds, and safety standards.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and warranty work.
• Inspect vacant units and ensure move-in readiness.
• Assist with inventory, supply ordering, and budgeting considerations.
• Monitor vendors and contractors for quality work.
• Support after-hours emergencies and on-call rotations.
