Role Description

The Multicredentialed Sonographer (Echo/Vascular) is a full-time, on-site role based in Plano, TX, responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic and vascular ultrasound studies. This role includes preparing patients for procedures, obtaining accurate diagnostic images, and optimizing equipment settings to support clear, clinically useful results. The sonographer collaborates closely with cardiologists and other clinicians to review findings, document results in the electronic health record, and support timely diagnosis and treatment planning. Day-to-day responsibilities also include maintaining equipment and exam rooms, adhering to safety and infection control protocols, and following established imaging standards and accreditation requirements. The role involves supporting patient education, promoting a positive patient experience, and participating in ongoing quality improvement and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound techniques, including acquisition and interpretation of standard and advanced cardiac and vascular views.
• Strong patient care skills, including clear communication, compassionate bedside manner, and ability to explain procedures and address patient questions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to coordinated cardiovascular care.
• Competence in using ultrasound systems and digital imaging platforms, with attention to image quality, data accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
• Commitment to safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance, including adherence to departmental protocols and accreditation standards.
• Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize exams, manage varied caseloads, and adapt to changing clinical needs.
• Current registration or eligibility in cardiac and vascular sonography (e.g., RDCS, RCS, RVT, RVS) and completion of an accredited sonography program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and willingness to maintain required hospital and professional certifications.
• Prior experience in a cardiovascular or hospital-based imaging setting is preferred; experience in a high-volume or specialty
