Qualifications

• RN with a valid Texas license and CPR certification.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years nursing experience as an RN preferred.
• Texas DHHS Vision/Hearing/Spinal/AN screening certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard clinic activities in the absence of the school nurse.
• Assess health disorders and provide treatment or interventions as ordered by the physician.
• Provide direct patient care using nursing process and school health protocols.
• Complete patient documentation in a timely manner.
• Notify parents and secure medical care for emergencies.
• Administer medications and treatments per NISD guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality for students and staff.

Education

Professional Registered Nurse

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Valid Texas Nursing License

CPR Certification

Five years nursing experience as RN

Vision, Hearing, Spinal and AN screening (Texas DHHS)
