Job summary

Riot Hospitality Group seeks a results-oriented Assistant Controller to lead accounting across Arizona, Colorado, and Tennessee. You will manage close processes, intercompany activity, and bank reconciliations for a multi-venue hospitality operation, while coaching a small team and collaborating with operations leaders.

You will ensure GAAP compliance, prepare financial statements, and support monthly reporting packages with variance analysis by brand.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or intercompany exposure.
• Hands-on experience preparing financial statements and ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Experience coaching and leading team members, serving as a go-to resource while meeting deadlines.
• Proven ability to translate accounting requirements clearly to operations staff.

Responsibilities

• Close, reconcile, and manage intercompany transactions end to end.
• Own weekly bank reconciliations and cash management activities.
• Support sales/use tax filings and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Lead and coach a small accounting team across multiple entities and brands.
• Partner with CFO to prepare monthly reporting packages and variance analysis by location and brand.
• Reconcile POS data with the general ledger and communicate deadlines to non-finance staff.
• Maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect assets and data.
