Qualifications

• Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing of New Mexico or compact (multi-state) license.
• BLS Certification required.
• Must meet the requirements for obtaining and maintaining life support certifications as outlined in the Life Support Certification Policy
• Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Floats to all units within SJRMC: ED, Behavioral Health, Medical, Surgical, Nephrology, Cardiology, ICU, PCU, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Childbirth, Pediatric Unit and Outpatient Nursing Clinic.
• Provides individualized patient care and maintains clinical competency appropriate for the area of practice on all stated units; provides MRN coverage as needed.
• Prioritizes patient care based on acuity and ensures continuity of safe, effective care.
• Understands and follows policy and procedure in addition to meeting licensure requirements.
• Responsive to safety and quality initiatives and sustains improvement.
• Charge RN for medical, surgical, nephrology, rehab, BHU and cardiology units.
• Builds productive interpersonal relationships, demonstrates teamwork and delegates appropriately.
• Participates in the department and proactively seeks continued growth and development.
• Supports the hospital’s philosophy by facilitating cooperation across staff in a multidisciplinary approach.
• Upholds Core Values, Standards of Practice, Standards of Care, and daily Nursing Department goals.
• Delivers interdisciplinary care across lifespan and documents care appropriately.
• Uses nursing process to set outcomes and prescribe nursing interventions.
• Follows Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct and participates in continuing education.
