Job description

Riverwood Center is located in beautiful Southwest Michigan with staff at seven sites across Berrien County. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and a member of Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health, Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards, and the National Council for Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides multi-systemic therapy services to juvenile offenders with a history of severe mental illness, violent behavior and/or substance abuse who are at risk of out-of-home placement.
2. Prepares comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment, treatment plans and court reporting.
3. Completes brief assessment, crisis intervention and pre-screens as needed.
4. Provides transportation to consumers as deemed appropriate.
5. Must be available by phone outside standard business hours.

Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in an appropriate mental health discipline.
2. Licensed by the Michigan Department of Commerce or Professional Regulation as a LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, LLP, LLPC or LPC.
3. Must meet the requirements for Child Mental Health Professional and must become fully licensed within 30 months of date of hire.
4. One to two years’ experience providing treatment to children/adolescents with serious mental illness and/or antisocial behaviors.
5. Excellent computer and interpersonal skills, punctuality, ability to organize and manage several projects/tasks simultaneously, and work independently.
6. Must have reliable means of transportation for home visits and maintain safe driving permit.
