Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients and families based on developmental needs.
• Collaborate with admissions and engagement; complete diagnostic assessments as needed.
• Implement interventions respectful of sociocultural values and family dynamics within a systemic context.
• Address clients' physical, mental, emotional health and history of substance use.
• Schedule and conduct therapeutic counseling sessions for individuals and families.
• Respond to crises and manage crisis situations.
• Use evidence-based practices to support families through sessions.
• Document activities per OMHAS, Medicaid and Joint Commission standards.
• Provide crisis intervention on call and related duties.

The MST Counselor/Social Worker empowers youth and their families to overcome dynamics that put youth at risk for being removed from their homes.
