Job summary

The Floating Store Manager at The Pittsburgh Paints Company leads daily store operations across the Georgia territory, including Dalton, Calhoun, and Rome, with a strong emphasis on sales growth, customer experience, and team development.

You will recruit, train, and coach a high-performing retail team, analyze performance metrics, manage inventory and scheduling, and collaborate with regional leaders to drive profitability and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of retail store experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous retail management or outside sales experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and customer service skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and make business decisions.
• Paint, coatings, or related product knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts (minimum 45 hours per week).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and 40–60 pounds routinely.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations to achieve sales, profitability, customer service, and operational goals.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop store team members to build a high-performing team and support career growth.
• Schedule employees, manage labor costs, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Coach associates on selling techniques, product knowledge, and upselling strategies to drive premium product adoption.
• Partner with Sales Representatives and leadership to grow business through customer outreach, sales calls, and prospect development.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience through strong service standards, customer engagement, and issue resolution.
• Manage inventory levels, product availability, ordering, and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain merchandising standards, product presentation, and store organization.
• Oversee cash handling, POS processes, and daily financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Analyze sales performance, financial results, and store scorecards to make informed business decisions.
• Develop and execute local sales and marketing initiatives aligned with company strategies.
• Collaborate with regional and operational leaders to achieve business objectives.
