Job summary

Sorispainvascular is seeking a versatile Multi-State Payroll Generalist to support payroll, HRIS, reporting, and HR operations across a growing multi-entity healthcare organization in Chicago.

You will process biweekly and monthly payroll across multiple entities and states, maintain accurate records in Paylocity, and configure HR systems. This role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years payroll experience.
• 1 year of HRIS configuration or HRIS reporting experience.
• Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-state organization.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups); comfortable building reports.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and discreet with confidential information.
• Able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly and monthly payroll across multiple entities and states, including pre- and post-payroll reconciliation, in partnership with the HR Director.
• Keep employee, compensation, tax, deduction, and direct deposit records accurate in Paylocity.
• Configure and maintain HR systems: earning and deduction codes, PTO policies, workflows, onboarding templates, and benefit plan setup, and entity creation.
• Build and run recurring and ad hoc reports, such as headcount, turnover, payroll, compliance, and benefits.
• Support M&A integration alongside the HR team: employee census and data mapping, moving acquired employees into HR systems and benefits, and onboarding new entities.
• Support benefits execution, open enrollment, and carrier file accuracy in partnership with the HR Director.
• Assist with internal and external related matters - benefit administration, compliance, unemployment claims, personnel files, etc.
• Answer employee payroll, benefits, and HR questions in partnership with the HR Operations team, and serve as primary contact when covering Generalist duties.
• Help with quarter-end and year-end activities, including W-2 review.
• Document processes and find ways to make them more efficient and better controlled.
