Job summary

Salute Inc. is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operator to join our on-site team in Red Oak, TX. The role involves executing maintenance tasks on critical data center systems, monitoring IT infrastructure, and ensuring reliable service for hyperscale clients.

You will work under the Data Center Manager, perform preventive maintenance, manage work requests, and coordinate with vendors to maintain top-tier operational performance in a high-risk environment.

Multi-Skilled Operator:

The Multi-Skilled Operator's primary responsibility is to complete all tasks as directed by the Data Center Manager and to report on any condition affecting building services and tenant comfort or safety. Specific areas of expertise include data center services, preventive maintenance, equipment monitoring, and support of IT systems, network services, business-critical processes, and procedures. Work requires strong formal conduct of operations skills, technical expertise, team accountability, and flawless execution of work activities commensurate with a high-risk critical environment and associated expectations for exceptional customer satisfaction and confidence.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures success in the execution of all operation, maintenance, and modification of all critical environment building systems tasks assigned, including mechanical (HVAC, computer room air conditioners, chillers, and plumbing), electrical (UPS, DC battery systems, PDU, generators, transfer switches, and switchgear), cabling (data and voice, broadband), fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems (fire alarm, duress, card access, CCTV).
  • Completes planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance work assignments requiring the skill and direction of several engineering, mechanical, and maintenance trades.
  • Ensures completion of periodic building systems inspections, i.e., HVAC, electrical distribution systems, and maintains mechanical equipment rooms to verify clean and safe conditions.
  • Provides rapid response, investigation, and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaints.
  • Creates, closes, and tracks "work requests" (WR). Initiates or responds to work orders, follows up, and verifies completion of work.
  • Monitors performance and notes deficiencies of service contractors and recommends changes as necessary.
  • Delivers data center services including colocation, telecommunications services, and deployment of additional services to customers and internal business systems.
  • Acts as a focal point to data center customers, vendors, and carriers as it relates to colocation, connectivity, and network products and services.
  • Supports internal networks, IT infrastructure, computers, electronics, and telephone systems.
  • Performs activities inside IT and telecommunications rooms or cabinets such as the installation of IT and network hardware, making or running patch cables, and verifying or testing cable paths.
  • Coordinates and oversees access to and work within the facility with third-party contractors, vendors, and carriers related to structured cabling installation, circuit delivery, and equipment installations in IT and telecommunications rooms and customer space.
  • Provides support to offsite points-of-presence at remote locations and aids in operations, administration, and maintenance of infrastructure, network equipment, and tasks related to the delivery and support of network services.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand forlong periodsof time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, asrequired
Compensation & Benefits Disclosure

The hourly rate for this role is $36.00 per hour. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. This posted hourly rate is the final rate of pay for the position, based on job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
