Job summary

Worldwide Fruit Limited is seeking Multi Skilled Operatives to assist in packing high-quality fruit, ensuring careful handling and adherence to quality standards.

You will move products to packing lines, select and pack to customer specifications, perform visual quality checks, place packed material on pallets, and support hygiene, health and safety practices to uphold environmental responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Efficient movement of product to packing lines and ensuring sufficient packaging materials.
• Select product from raw materials and pack to customer specifications with careful handling.
• Perform visual quality checks on all products per specification.
• Place packed material into customer trays and stack onto pallets.
• Be aware of packaging and labeling specifications and report errors to line leader.
• Complete DQ check sheets as appropriate.
• Assist with cleaning and, with training, take on roles in DQ, QC or machine operation.
• Promote best practices in Hygiene, Health & Safety and environmental standards, supporting the company's sustainability efforts.
• Identify areas for continuous improvement and communicate ideas using tools like 5S and root-cause analysis.

Our Multi Skilled Operatives help pack our top quality fruit ensuring it is always handled carefully and meets our quality standards.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the efficient movement of product to the packing lines ensuring there is sufficient packaging materials to fulfil requirements.
• To select product from raw materials and pack it to the customer specification, ensuring fruit is always handled carefully. This may include hand filling bags or packing into trays.
• To perform visual quality checks on all product as per the specification.
• To be responsible for placing packed material into customer trays and stacking onto pallets.
• To be aware of packaging and labelling specifications and highlight any errors to the line leader.
• To complete DQ check sheets as appropriate.
• To undertake any other duties, such as cleaning which may be required, or act up, training permitting to such roles as, DQ, QC or machine operative.
• To actively promote best practice in relation to Hygiene, Health & Safety standards and good housekeeping and support the Company’s efforts to minimise its environmental impact and adopt environmental best practice.
• To look to identify areas of continuous improvement and communicate ideas to relevant staff. To use tools and techniques such as 5s, root cause.
